Last updated:

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Proudjersey collects when you visit https://proudjersey.com, place an order or contact us, how we use that information, who we share it with, how long we keep it, how we protect it and the choices and rights you have. Proudjersey is the business responsible for your personal information under this policy. Our business details are: Proudjersey, 525 Gardner Way, Clifton, CO 81520, United States. If you have any question about your privacy, email [email protected].

Privacy at a glance

  • We collect only what we need to sell you jerseys, deliver them and support you.
  • We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
  • Card details are handled by our payment provider; we never see or store your full card number.
  • We use essential cookies to run the cart and checkout. We do not currently use third-party analytics or advertising cookies.
  • You can ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your information at any time.
  • We reply to privacy requests within 1 business day and complete them within the time the law requires.

1. Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to everyone who uses our website or buys from us: visitors browsing the site, customers who place an order (with or without an account), people who receive a jersey as a gift, people who contact our support team, and anyone who sends us a copyright or intellectual property notice. It covers information collected through the website, through email and through any other interaction you have with Proudjersey.

It does not cover websites, apps or services run by other companies, even if we link to them, such as a carrier’s tracking page or a payment provider’s checkout window. Those companies have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to read them.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you give us

When you place an order, we collect your name, email address, billing address, shipping address, telephone number (if you provide one) and the details of the order: which jerseys, which sizes, quantities and prices. If someone else is receiving the order, we collect the recipient’s name and shipping address as you give them to us.

If you create an account, we also store your login email and a password that is encrypted (hashed) so that even we cannot read it, together with your order history and saved addresses.

When you contact us by email or through a support ticket, we collect your email address, your name if you include it and the content of your message, including any attachments such as photos of a damaged jersey or the measurements you send for sizing advice.

If you write a review or send us a photo for publication, we collect the content you submit and the name you choose to display with it.

If you send a copyright notice, counter-notice or intellectual property report, we collect the contact details and statements the notice must contain.

2.2 Information collected automatically

When you visit the site, our web servers and essential cookies record technical information that every website receives: your IP address, the type of browser and device you use, your operating system, the pages you visit, the page that referred you, and the date and time of each request. This information is used to deliver the pages you ask for, keep the site secure, prevent fraud and fix technical problems. Our hosting and content delivery providers may also process this information to protect the site against attacks and to deliver pages quickly.

The site uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for it to work, described in section 5.

2.3 Information from third parties

Our payment provider tells us whether a payment succeeded and gives us limited information about it, such as the payment method type, the last four digits of a card and a transaction reference. We never receive your full card number or security code. Shipping carriers send us delivery status updates for your parcel, such as “in transit” or “delivered”, and may tell us about delivery problems. If a carrier investigation is needed for a lost parcel, the carrier may share information about the delivery attempt with us.

2.4 Information we do not collect

We do not ask for, and you should never send us, payment card numbers, security codes, bank login details or government identification numbers. We do not knowingly collect sensitive information such as health data, biometric data or information about your religious or political beliefs. If you choose a faith-inspired or patriotic jersey, we record only the product you ordered, as we do for every order, and we do not draw conclusions about your beliefs from it.

3. How we use your information

Why we use personal information
Purpose Information used Legal basis (EEA/UK customers)
Processing and delivering your order Name, addresses, email, phone, order details, payment status Performance of our contract with you
Sending order, shipping and refund emails Name, email, order details, tracking numbers Performance of our contract with you
Handling returns, exchanges, refunds and carrier investigations Order details, messages, photos, delivery information Performance of our contract; legitimate interests

Keeping the site secure and preventing fraud Technical data, order and payment status Legitimate interests; legal obligations
Keeping tax and accounting records Order and payment records, billing address Legal obligation
Improving our products, size guidance and website Aggregated order and return reasons, technical data Legitimate interests
Sending marketing emails, if we offer them Email, name Your consent, or legitimate interests where the law allows
Handling copyright and IP notices Details contained in the notice Legal obligation; legitimate interests

We do not use your personal information to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you based solely on automated processing. Fraud checks may flag an order for a person on our team to review, but a person makes the final decision, and you can always contact us if you think an order was cancelled by mistake.

3.1 Marketing

We do not currently send marketing newsletters. If we start, we will only send marketing emails where you have agreed to receive them or where the law allows us to contact existing customers about similar products, and every marketing email will include a one-click unsubscribe link. Order confirmations, shipping notifications, refund confirmations and replies to your questions are service messages, not marketing, and we send them whether or not you subscribe to marketing.

4. How we share information

We share personal information only with the service providers who help us run the store, and only the information each one needs to do its job. They may use it only to provide their service to us and must protect it.

  • Payment provider: processes your payment securely and helps prevent fraud. The payment provider used for your order is the one shown at checkout, and its own privacy policy also applies to the payment.
  • Shipping carriers: receive your name, shipping address and, where needed for delivery, your phone number or email so they can deliver your parcel and send delivery notifications.
  • Hosting, security and content delivery providers: store the website and its database and protect it against attacks; they process technical data and the information stored in our systems.
  • Email providers: deliver the order, shipping and support emails we send and receive.
  • Professional advisers: such as accountants or lawyers, where needed for tax, accounting or legal matters, under a duty of confidentiality.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, for example in response to a valid court order; when it is necessary to protect our rights, our customers or the public, for example to prevent fraud; or as part of a business transfer, such as a sale or merger, in which case the new owner must respect this policy.

When you send a copyright counter-notice, the law requires us to pass it, including your contact details, to the person who sent the original notice. When we forward a notice to a customer whose content was removed, we withhold the complainant’s personal contact details where the law allows.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing or for cross-context behavioural advertising.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We use only the cookies needed for the site to work:

Cookies used on proudjersey.com
Type Purpose How long
Cart and session cookies Remember the items in your cart and keep your checkout session working Session, or up to a few days for a saved cart
Account login cookies Keep you signed in if you have an account Session, or longer if you choose “remember me”
Security cookies Protect forms and the checkout against abuse and fraud Short-lived

We do not currently use third-party analytics, advertising or social media tracking cookies. If we ever add them, we will update this policy first and, where the law requires, ask for your consent before setting them. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; if you block essential cookies, the cart and checkout will not work.

6. How long we keep information

  • Order records (items, prices, billing details, payment status): for as long as tax and accounting laws require, typically several years after the order.
  • Shipping addresses and delivery records: for as long as needed to complete the order, handle returns within the 60-day window, resolve delivery problems and meet record-keeping duties.
  • Support emails and tickets: for as long as they are useful for resolving your request and any related follow-up, and then deleted or anonymised.
  • Accounts: until you ask us to close your account, after which we keep only the order records we must retain by law.
  • Technical server logs: for a short period for security and troubleshooting, then deleted.
  • Copyright and IP notices: for as long as needed to handle the notice and to meet our legal obligations, including repeat-infringer records.

When information is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymise it so it can no longer identify you.

7. How we protect information

The whole site, including the checkout, uses an encrypted HTTPS connection. Payments are processed by our payment provider, so full card numbers never reach our servers. Account passwords are stored in hashed form. Access to customer information is limited to the people who need it to process orders and provide support, and our systems are kept updated. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work hard to protect your information. If a security incident affects your personal information and the law requires us to tell you, we will notify you and the relevant authorities without undue delay.

You can help too: use a unique password for your account, never share it, and be wary of messages that claim to be from us and ask for passwords or payment details. We will never ask for them.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights:

  • Access: ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Deletion: ask us to delete your information, subject to the records we must keep by law.
  • Portability: receive your information in a structured, commonly used format.
  • Objection and restriction: object to, or ask us to limit, certain uses of your information.
  • Withdraw consent: where we rely on consent, withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier processing.
  • Opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising: we do not sell or share personal information in these ways, but you may still send us an opt-out request and we will record it.
  • Complain: lodge a complaint with your local data protection or privacy authority.

To make a request, email [email protected] from the email address linked to your orders or account, or use the privacy topic on our Submit a Ticket page. We acknowledge requests within 1 business day. To protect your information, we may need to verify your identity, for example by asking you to confirm details of a recent order. You may use an authorised agent where the law allows; we may ask for proof of their authority. We respond within the time the law requires and never charge a fee or treat you differently for exercising your rights.

8.1 United States residents

Residents of US states with consumer privacy laws, such as California, Colorado, Virginia, Connecticut and others, have rights to know, access, correct and delete personal information and to opt out of its sale, sharing for targeted advertising or profiling. In the last 12 months we have collected the categories of information described in section 2 (identifiers, contact and address details, commercial information about orders, internet activity on our site and the content of your messages) for the purposes described in section 3, and disclosed them only to the service providers described in section 4. We have not sold personal information or shared it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16. If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision email with “Appeal” in the subject line.

8.2 Canada

Canadian customers have rights under Canada’s federal and provincial privacy laws to access their personal information and to challenge its accuracy. You can contact us as described above, and if you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your provincial privacy commissioner.

8.3 Australia

Australian customers may request access to and correction of their personal information. If you have a privacy complaint, contact us first; if you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

8.4 New Zealand

New Zealand customers have rights under the Privacy Act 2020 to access and correct their personal information. If you are not satisfied with how we handle a request or complaint, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner in New Zealand.

8.5 European Economic Area and United Kingdom

We do not ship to the EEA or the UK, but if you visit the site from there or contact us, you have the rights listed above under the GDPR or UK GDPR, and the legal bases for our processing are set out in the table in section 3. You may complain to your local supervisory authority.

9. Children’s privacy

Our store is intended for adults, and orders must be placed by someone old enough to enter into a contract, or with a parent’s or guardian’s permission. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets a higher age). Jerseys bought by adults for younger family members are recorded only as part of the adult’s order. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International processing

Proudjersey is based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States or in other countries. If you live in Canada, Australia or New Zealand, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. When we transfer personal information, we take steps required by applicable law to protect it, such as choosing providers with appropriate safeguards and contractual protections.

11. Links to other websites

Our site and emails may link to other websites, such as a carrier’s tracking page. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites. Please read their privacy policies before giving them personal information.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices, our service providers or the law change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it last changed. If we make a material change, for example adding analytics or marketing cookies, we will announce it on the site and, where appropriate, notify customers by email before the change takes effect.
